Ephesians 1:7-8, ‘In [Jesus] we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.’
‘It was Finished upon that Cross’, paying attention to Verse 2.
Do you ever feel that you are failing as a Christian, that God does not think you are doing well enough, or that your sin is too much to forgive? Remember this: your salvation does not depend on your performance. Even the most hard-working Christian will come nowhere near the required standard on their own. Your salvation is a gift, entirely paid for by Jesus on the cross. You now – and ever – have the perfect righteousness of Jesus. When you start to doubt, remember this: it was finished upon that cross.
Thank God that your salvation is not based upon your performance. Thank God that in Jesus your righteousness is complete and always will be.
