John 10:27-28, ‘My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.’
‘It was Finished upon that Cross’, paying attention to Verse 3.
We worry about death. We mourn for those who have already died. If death was the end, we would have reason for constant despair. But death is not the end. It is the doorway to eternal life. For those who accept Jesus’ finished work for them on the cross, death is the beginning to an eternity in the presence of God, alongside all the believers who have gone before us and all those coming after. For the believer, this is just the beginning. Death is dead and Christ is risen – it was finished upon that cross!
Praise God for defeating death through the atoning work of Jesus. Praise Him that we have an eternity of joy in His presence ahead of us.
